AAMT Online Chapter

New Chapter Forming -- American Association for Medical Transcription

Be part of this new online chapter, a first for AAMT!

Here is a letter from Jay Vance, the chapter coordinator:

Today's online chapter chat meeting was a great success! We had over 100 people show up for the chat--so many, as a matter of fact, that we crashed the server of the primary chat room! We were able to switch to a backup chat room, however, and the meeting proceeded apace. The response to the presentations by Kathy Rockel and myself were extremely positive and enthusiastic, and I believe the online chapter is going to be a rousing success if today's response is any indication.

Thanks to everyone who participated in today's meeting. For those who couldn't make it but are interested in the proceedings, here is a link to the transcript of the chat:

Transcript of AAMT Online Chapter's First Meeting

The next step in the process of forming an online chapter will be a formal chapter formation meeting, which should happen in approximately two weeks. This meeting will consist of a presentation from a national AAMT representative as well as another presentation, both of which will offer continuing education credit. There will be a fee for this meeting. Also at this meeting, the plan will be to elect a board of directors for the online chapter. So far there are five candidates for the board of directors, and you can view their profiles and ask questions of them at:

We will keep you updated with more details of the chapter formation meeting.

Thanks again for your support!
